Mine went straight up and then I went straight for the bell housing bolts to ensure the TC couldn't go anywhere. Just 2 or 3 in the bell housing and then some support at the back, then your on the home run. If it gets too heavy, PUT IT BACK DOWN!! You can always have another go.

The redneck solution prevails
I wouldn't call it a redneck solution at all, improvised maybe but it looks safe and stable. Hopefully you don't run out of timber ........or Is that the dining room floor you've sawn up????

I removed and refitted a R129 rear subframe using two trolley jacks and bits of wood. Nothing wrong with a bit of ghetto engineering

Well for the last three hours I've been thwarted by a jack with a lack of lift.
Simply been awaiting the arrival of a mates jack for real men to get the height I need.
Hopefully soon as it's perfect weather here in Hinckley...and I'm just in the mood to get this all wrapped up.
It is what it is so will report as soon as I get the trans up and in .
Cheers all for support.
Back soon I hope

Great thread, hope it's all going well today.

When do you think the big day will be when you 'slip it into D'

I'm sure there's loads of us lurking with fingers crossed for you.

Will you have to clear all stored codes before the off?

Ps floor looks fine :) :)

I love the fact you have a workbench in the house!
Yes, the 'just In shot' workbench complete with vice and on wheels, it doesn't even look out of place! You've got to hand it to this fella because nothing is going to get in the way, this is going to happen, try and stop me. Outstanding.

Cheers Andy... yes it will go in and out again if needs be but it will be sorted ..I'm on nightshift won't get home until 8:30am so I will have it in by midday tomorrow and hopefully all buttoned up and tested before work again at 3pm.. then it's mayweather mcgreggor time... and then a run in her to Oxford fishing for a couple nights to properly test it.
I will ofcourse keep updating throughout the day... I love the fact that forum folk can't wait to see how it all pans out... good stuff

Thanks bud,
I think by lunchtime tomorrow...my mate is dropping the jack to me first thing when I get home from work.
Really appreciate all the support.
Yeh will get codes cleared by a top but generic diagnostic machine as I can't get anyone with star to come to me...but I'm sure it will be fine...if not I will push her to the nearest indie with star if I must.
Watch this space.
Thanks again

I wasted a lot of time today and if I'd have known I could have replaced the coolant rad and the trans oil cooler...such is life...so I still have those to do before I put fresh fluid in and test...but that shouldn't take any more than an hour total as I've had the front off and all that out before.
