I recently discovered that the turbo pipe on my ML320cdi had popped out of its sleeve. CHecked the seals and replaced and reconnected same.

Immediatley thereafter on a test drive the engine management light came on. Took to a dealer who connected the diagnostics and cleared all errors

Lo and behold , a few minutes after leaving the dealership , the engine light reappeared and tjhe error was the turbo boost switch sitting under the TURBO . Has anyone had such a problem and what are the correct measures to repair

Under the turbo is the swirl flap motor, nothing else. It’s likely oil has got into it from the leaking turbo intake that you fixed

Whatta heck is turbo boost switch... turbo actuator failures are pretty common in these, it can be tested by SDS. If it is sticking turbo vane, its little bit more difficult to separate from actuator fail. Boot pipe probably popped out because of overboost.... Then check that intake manifold flaps are moving, it can affect to boost pressure control too. Or EGR. Boost problems are very difiicult to universal code readers, even SDS can be misaligned sometimes. Live data and individual component tests are right route if parts darts is not wanted.

IF it is turbo actuator, the can be bought separately, but its not 100% guarantee repair will work. But its much more cheaper than new turbo which dealer will change.
