Hi all,

Looking for some help...

We’ve got an intermittent front wiper issue; each day you start the car front wipers won’t work - although you can hear the relay click each time you press on the wiper stalk. After a bunch of tries (10-20) the wipers will jerk a little (a few mm) then, after doing that a few times, they’ll free up and operate as normal for the rest of that day - even if the car is switched off and left for hours.

Only code coming back refers to “wiper motor blocked” - my understanding is this is probably sticking/lack of lubrication in the wiper motor itself?

I’m going to take the assembly off and get into the motor - what would you suggest to lubricate all the moving parts? Is it a good idea to use dielectric grease on all the contact points as well?

Or is there something else that might cause this particular issue?

Cheers,

Martin

It does, but this issue is the same if the wipers are completely off (not even on the rain sensing function) and you push the end of the stalk in to activate them once

not sure on this car, older Mercedes had some contacts within the wiper motor that corrode, i have seen a link where they are cleaned up and all works again. it does sound like an intermittent connection issue.
I would suggest being very careful when taking it apart, some small springs etc just disappear as if magic !!!!!
