I need to buy a new key for my ML, its the type that does not have the actual metal key profile on show just the plastic stubbie type.
Any ideas where to get one as my local dealer wants £180 and then code it.

Thanks
Steven

Not at all,,I just have some time to spare for the time being

You cannot re program as such,, if you have the old key the the chip could be transferred to another key, and some do this,,the info on the existing key can be taken out and transferred to a new chip,,they are write once only

Looks like one for the future then. £180 for a key is some price.

Thanks for the info.

£180 is not a bad price for a key that (as far as we all know) has NEVER been beat. These keys have been around in one form or another for 12 years now & are the most secure in the world. If they could be bought for £20 & reprogrammed, I doubt if your ML would stay on the drive for long & your insurance premium would be sky-high.:(

£25k for a car or £180 for a key.

And at the end of the day you pay the scrap man £25 to take the car away, and you put the key on Ebay and sell it for £30
