- A Klasse W169 A180 CDI
Hello everyone
Since a couple of months i am an owner of an A Klasse W169 A180 CDI with automatic transmission and would kindly ask you to help me with some info about the parking brake adjustment.
From the first moment since i had the car, i have this issue with the parking break not holding. I have replaced the brake disks, brake calipers, caliper springs, the pieces which pushes the calipers outwards and the rear left cable. I have adjusted the cable so that there is no slack and also adjusted the calipers as thight as i could (if i move the adjuster wheel just a bit more, i can barely turn the brake disk by hand).
To make a long story short, after all the above, if i pull the parking lever all the way to max and put the car in Drive, it will move forward (with difficulty but it will move). Is this normal behaviour or does my car have problem? I am not very familiar with this type of parking brake, i also have a Renault Megane 2, on which the parking brake will activate the "normal" brake pads and will fully lock the wheel (the car will not move from the spot if i try to drive forward, because the engine will stall) and i am comparing it with that.
