Desperate newbie here, I inherited my dads 190e and it needs a new home as I have nowhere to store it. It's only done 48k since new and everything works a treat - apart from this ABS light staying on permanently. It used to be off on start-up and then light up at 5mph and stay on but since we changed both sensors in the front wheels it is now on permanently.
OVP relay changed twice, new battery, tyre pressures checked, replaced ABS ECU, replaced ABS pump, all wiring to sensors tested and running out of ideas - if anyone has any ideas where to go from here they would be massively appreciated!! 20210221_135056.jpg

Hello and welcome

Did you use genuine Mercedes sensors? Also are the reluctor rings clean, attached and not rusty?

Much appreciated Blobcat, the front sensors were genuine Mercedes. I've just spoken to the mechanic the car is with and he said as the ABS light is on straight from ignition, it can't be the rings as the light comes on when stationary (they are in good condition). I've asked him to check the rear sensor as this is the only thing as yet untested. If that cures it I'll be very happy but if not, not sure where to go next....

You need to get the error codes read and for that you need DAS/Star.

Maybe a stupid suggestion, have you checked the warning bulb is in the correct slot in the dash, many used to get them in the wrong place sending you down the wrong path???

Yes that would be perfect, but unfortunately trying to find one that plugs into the 9 pin socket is proving impossible...:( it's like this one:

And there's your answer. A quick trip to Ian and you'll be sorted.
