I have a strange W201 central locking issue:
The central locking works fine...but only via the boot lock!
If I try to lock either via the driver’s or the passenger door lock only that door locks and unlocks.
A friend suggested that commonly the wiring has been tampered with on these cars to fit after market alarms. Indeed, I did find a wire (in the passenger side foot-well) that looked like it had been cut and two extra wires joined to its cut ends. However, re-joining this cut wire has made no difference.
I’ve lifted out the rear seat and checked Visually everything around the pump there and can’t see anything (obvious ) wrong there.
Any ideas much appreciated.
