W202 Auto Box dipstick wanted

After some serious problems with the 5 speed auto box (722.6) on my 1997 W202, I have decided to change the ATF regularly. Does anybody know where I can get a dipstick? (without being robbed blind by a dealer)

Also, the ATF was last changed at 87k and I am planning to change it again at 129K. Any suggestions on the interval I should opt for? I know that the 4 speed cars get the ATF and filters changed at 36k, as the 5 speed unit has "special" ATF could I leave it a bit longer - say 50-60k between changes? (bearing in mind that MB aledge that the unit is sealed for "life")

I paid £20 for mine.........the MB partsman wasn't sure whether he was allowed to sell me one as 'it was a workshop tool' .....but then he sold me one anyway!

Part no.W140 589 152 100.

Push it in until it hits the bottom of the sump then cycle the selector throough all the gears and back to P then pull the dipstick.

Best measured when the box is hot.

60K seems to be a nice change life.
