w202 c200A 1998 owner's manual and tyre choice

i just bought a w202 c200 (auto) 1998 with 42,000 km on the clock. car didn't come with owner's manual and service book. is there any way i can purchase these? secondly, the tyres are due for change, and i'm thinking of changing wheels from 15" to 16". found the rims i like, but am undecided on tyre choice. hv read some tyre reviews, and hv narrowed down choice to michelin pilot sport and pirelli p6/p7. main consideration points are wet handling and low noise. any tips and/or suggestions welcomed. thanks & cheers!

You can get owners manual from parts dept of any MB Dealer. Go to the service dept and you can get a replacement service book, stamped up if its been serviced by MB.

jaymanek, thanks for the reply. i'm located in malaysia, and apparently the local MB dealer doesn't keep them in stock, however he did promise to look out for excess copies (!?) and pass them to me if there is one. if this doesn't materialize within the next week i'll probably need to get them straight from the factory...

On the tyre matter, I have found the Pirelli tyres generate rather a lot of road noise....

Why not have a look at www.mytyres.net as they have a good review section where you can compare grip, noise &wear rates etc.

spike, thanks for the tip. which model are you referring to, or do the pirellis tend to be noisy in general? i read somewhere that the bridgestone ps02 is rather good, but i'm afraid i can't get them here in malaysia. i'll check out the website, thanks!
