Evening all wondered if someone could help or give me some advice. My headlamp bulb h1 had blown. When i came to replace it the bulb had fused to the bulb holder!! I have contacted local dealer & they said i would have to have a new headlight for £217 plus vat:p:p. I thought you're havin a laugh. Is this a common problem i've never known a bulb to fuse to the holder before. Also does anyone know if i can just get the bulb holder. I've been on google all day & now it's doing my nut in. Thanks in advance. LeeBert:confused:

Hi,
This happened to one of mine but after a lot of persistance managed to clear the holder.
I certainly would,nt be spending that sort of money on a headlight try a breakers or even new from Euro's it will less than half the MB price.

Thanks very much for the advice Andy. Haven't been able to remove the bulb from the holder. Holder actually melted the plastic to the bulb!! The earth side was completely brittle & broken away also. So now on the hunt for a bulb holder or headlamp unit. Thanks again Lee
