The brake switch on some models is a dual device, one for the stop lamps and one for the electronics, they are prone to failiure and quite cheap from MB.
Have you recently had new tyres fitted? If you have, then check they are the correct 'spec' for the vehicle. I had the same problem, which turned out to be as I described. The difference in rolling resistance, caused the c/c to disengage.
If not the tyres - then check the other postings for brake switch etc.
