hi guys, i've been googling and even checked here but cannot find a nice 'howto' showing how to successfully remove the front wings on a W202 model.

Does anyone know here exactly what needs to be done to get them off, do you have to remove any trim on the wing or just remove the bolts holding them in place under the bonnet,

I'd love to see a guide for this with photos, so all help appreciated.

cheers

You have the bolts that you can see along the top.

You have a couple on the A pillar in front of the front door.

Take out the wheel arch liner (plastic nuts all round)

Take out headlamp or blinker what ever is in the front corner and 1 bolt there

there could be one or two under the rear of the front wing under the wheel arch.

ok sounds easy enough, is it ?

I'm really wanting to do this to pop out a dent in one of the front wings, maybe I should take some photos so that others can see the process

Why not do that.

Taking out the dent. work your way around the outside of the dent slowly pushing it out, do not push or knock in the center of the dent.

You can get rubber suckers for doing this that pull the dent out.

Anyweb, before you take the wing off drill 3 holes 3mm diam. through the wing and the backing metal , 2 on the top edge between the bolts and one on the lower edge. This will give you a reference for lining the wing up again when you refit , use self tapping screws to line up the holes then insert the bolts and tighten when everything is aligned.
