W202 Heater booster

Being new to this forum I must apologize, in advance, if I incorrectly complete my first post. My pride and joy is a 2000 W202 C220 CDI which, despite many miles on the clock, runs very well and, basically, will probably end up being cited in divorce proceedings in the not too distant future. Can anyone please tell me where exactly on my vehicle I can find the diesel powered auxiliary booster heater that I would dearly like to work now the mornings are becoming cold and icy. MB want an absolute fortune to replace the unit which will require a second mortgage! If I can find it I may be able to reduce the cost somewhat. Hi,
Are you sure that your vehicle came with this option as i have never known a w202 to have this option.
Have you tried to put you full VIN. No. into this web site it will tell you the options your car came with from new.

Hi Andy and thanks for the reply.
Well I have the switch for it on the gear change console and MB tell me the unit I have fitted is faulty and requires replacing. Ive checked my VIN number on the site you suggest and it does not specify a heater booster but it does say it has the European pack fitted which allows for colder temperatures. Santefe999
