W202 - I Need Air Con In This Heat !

Although electric windows and sunroof help cool down the black leather seats, Air Conditioning would be PERFECT !

My car is a 1994 W202 - I love it, is it too late to get Air Con fitted ?

Anyone have any ideas ? Cost ?

The cost of the components alone is over £3000 to fit from scratch would be too expensive, it would pay you to sell it and buy another one with it on .

Hi jonrw,
Quick, Cheap cool air, take out the pollen filter above the passenger footwell, it improves the airflow no end, even if the filter is new. Its not aircon but it helps a lot in this weather. Yes I know it will probably fool the temp sensors in the system, but I can always refit it in autumn. Try it, it makes a big difference.

I called AC Systems Company in Kent and spoke to a lady 'receptionist', whom took my contact details and said she'd call me back on one of the numbers I gave her as the parts that were required were not 'off the shelf' ones and therefore needed to revert - I haven't heard from them since !
To be honest I reckon that it'll be too expensive.

Where the hell is the pollen filter ? Do I need to get the car up on ramps to get to it ?

It's under the dash on the passenger side,see here ;http://202tech.mkosonen.com/howto/blower.html. Cover the carpet with newspaper before you start as the filter is probably full of crap.
