W202 intermittent fuel gauge problem

Sometimes when starting up the car the fuel gauge needle sits at empty, but usually after about 10 mins or so it starts working properly again

Any ideas?

You need new fuel tank senders. It was a very common problem a few years ago. Take it to a specialitst if you don't want to do it.

sticky gauges

Remember it could be just the needle stuck to the stop pin on the actual gauge. Easy fix, but you have to take the cluster out. Prove it by thumping the side of the inst housing to see if the needle unsticks!.
