W202 key woes.

Hiya.

Have an early w202 that I snapped the key blade off in the boot lock when the battery drained itself.

I have since lost the blade “moronic I know”

Still have the one button flip fob. Which locks and unlocks the car.

Everyone I have spoke to especially my insurance have said it doesn’t have an immobiliser.

I’ve tried everyone I know of local to get a blade cut somehow, Mercedes are not remotely interested and have fobbed me off.

Just looking for any advice on getting a blade cut from Vin or getting a key code out of it some how to get one cut. Thanks.

Google RMK or look on this forum. Based in Birmingham and have a good reputation. I've never known a 202 not to have an immobiliser and I've had 4 of them. How would insurance know?

Got it sorted this morning local guy called I picked it. Came out picked the passenger door lock for the code and cut me an old school blank “solid old merc key” all works as it should.

When I tried insuring it on my private policy they told me it didn’t have a factory immobiliser and it took the quote “33 with 12 years no claims from £184 to £1400
