Hi,
I have a W202 C200 with a low grumbling sound at all speeds. It appears to fade greatly when cornering left. Would it be a wheel bearing and if so how difficult to replace.

Regards,

Hi,
Welcome to the forum, is the noise from the front or the rear?

Hi,
From rear, fades when turning left but is constant at all speeds in straight line. It makes no difference whether in gear or neutral, braking or accelerating.

Check all the bearings when the wheel is off the ground by spinning it and listening

Hi,
Have jacked up the rear and listened. left rear does make quite a noise but no play can be detected in bearing. Driver's side rear produces very little noise!
