W202 Special build?

Hello All,

I bumped into (not literally) a chap yesterday who shared a few words about his 202. He mentioned that it had a few factory upgrades (he didn't divulge exactly what).

He said it was built to a requested spec and when he left I noticed it had a badge on the right hand back side - I think it said A1-K or similar?

Anyone ever heard of one of these before?

He could have just been pulling your plon...., never heard of anything like that, maybe a germany company aftermarket kit?? who knows??

My car was built to order....and to a "special" specification ............

all cars are built to the buyers spec. 9/10 times they will have pre-guessed what you will order and will have one already built and sitting in a yard but if you insist on an odd spec,the factory will build what you want. Always have.
No idea what the badge is but its not a factory badge.

Hi Mike,

You get some people like that, i was waiting to pick my daughter up from school the other day in my S320 when an old guy stopped and started to chat about how nice my car was and said he owned one exactly the same. After a short chat he said he had his car parked around the corner and he would drive past me so that i could see, a couple of minutes later he passed in a C180 ! Well, same badge anyway.
