Hi Guys

I have had a search on the forum, but would like some sound advice. My 2001 model W203 C200k Avantgarde has the box standard single cd radio in the dash board with the gap underneath for storage. I was wondering if anyone knew what is the cheapest way I can fit a Merc radio that will fit and is compatible that I can put a proper AUX input?

I have had enough of my I-trip, it is crap sound. But I cant justify spending to buy a new merc or £1000 for someone to fit a command module. Any help as always appreciated. If anyone wants to sell me a unit that is working and compatible let me know.

Regards

Mick

Now theres a coincidence. I was about to ask the very same question. I also have a W203 C240 (estate) 2001, and I also want to be able to connect my iPod touch, preferably with the capability to use the steering wheel controls to change tracks etc. Also, is there a way to have the track info displayed on the dash display?
I have read a bit on here about it, but get more confused the more I read! I think the £400 quoted in other posts for the MB integration unit seems excessive to say the least.
Has anyone taken theirs to an ICE dealer (non MB) for a good solution? I live in London.

I had seen a retro fit for these things,,but I see now that I have checked its only for cars with the Audio 20 and 50 from 24-04-04 on.

Do you have any suggestion of later audio units that would fit in the hole and still be compatible with the steering controls but also have an AUX in?

Regards

I went the aftermarket route, Alpine IDA-X100 and a 350BT Bluetooth module.

I can attach my iPhone (to charge or play) and my 80GB iPod at the same time (the iPod's a high speed connection).

I can also play from my 160GB mini drive direct through the USB port.

There is a compatible connection available for wheel controls...

I'm certainly not lacking for music quantity and I'll upgrade the speakers for quality when I have the chance.

Not mad money either.

Hi

I have a 2002 C220 CDi (W203) and I went the aftermarket route to. I went with the Sony MEX-BT5000.

The only issue that I am having is that I cannot get no radio channels. I used the aerial adapter to connect the din but no go. I saw there is also a smalled black cable which has what I believe is called a fakra connector. Is that the aerial.

What did you need to connect to get the radio working.

Can somebody Pleeeeeasse help me !! Is there anyone out there who can advise me of a good reputable Audio Installer who is known to have good experience and knowledge of Mercs. I have an 1998 SL320 and want to pull out a non-standard Pioneer system that has been installed sometime in the passed and put in the Audio 10 system with its corresponding the 3010 Cartridge Player in the boot. Thanks in advance ;)
