w203 270cdi wipers not working

My 2001 C270cdi wipers gave up the ghost last week, the washers dont work either now.
Checked the fuses etc, all ok. took motor off and put a feed staight to it and all was fine.There are 4 wires feeding the motor, 1 earth(ok), 1 permanantly fed(ok), nothing at all at the other 2 at any time. I cant find where the relay is!
Any ideas please?

The relay is electronially controlled from memory. Its in the SAM unit on the drivers side under the bonnet.

It is probably the combination swicth that is at fault.
