My W203 has been quite reliable until alarm siren and clicking noise has recently occured without any reason for me.
Finally I had left the car disconnected battery connection for 10days during my away then it seemed ok when I reconnected battery after that. It run for the day without any trouble. Next day when I tried to start, the alarm siren on again so I couldn't drive at all.
Please let me know how to sort it out if you have ever had such trouble with you.

The siren's are weak pints on the 203's. When locked, do the indicators flash repeatedly?

A new siren is roughly £80, and is an easy fit. You'll need an M8 nut as there is a change in design.

To answer your question before you ask it, if you are looking at the passenger side front wheel, it is behind the wing shield at about the 4o'clock position.

By any chance is there a similar problem with the ML alarm siren? When left alone in the car, the current Mrs. CClass prefers to have the doors locked but after a matter of seconds, the alarm siren screeches and indicators flash whether the key is in the ignition switch or not!

I don't know if the alarm is original equipment or after market; it operates on the key-fob. There are two volumetric sensors on the "A" pillars and an LED on the top right-hand corner of the windscreen. I have found the "box" on the bulkhead on the passenger side but no reference is made in the manual as to how the sensors may be disabled to prevent the alarm sounding. Can I just remove the sensors if they cannot be disabled?

Sorry if this is long-winded but, being Irish, I never use one word when two will do!

Hi Guys,
I'm replacing the siren on a pal's W203, any clue on removing the bracket? It's got an unusual fixing, maybe a torx or star type! Where can I get the suitable tool?
TIA

Thanks's for the reply but it's similar to a torx but has a pin stopping the tool going in, so it must be of a torx design with a hollow centre and I've no idea what it's called. So clue's would be helpful
