the recall in question only appiles to w203 models fitted with a south african batterys, the fault in question is that the breather/vent hole in the top of the battery wasnt drilled through allowing pressure/heat to build up. when cranking this can cause the top of the battery to blow of into the filter above it, no fire risk at all as the battery shorts it self stright away, worst thing is the mess some other poor sod has to clean up......
