Sorry for the really basic question. My boot interior light is not working. So I would like to replace the blub for the boot interior light blub. The interior boot light is positioned just below the rear window below the parcel shelf.

Does any know how to replace the blub. I've tried removing the white interior light cover and it does not appear to move or be able to be removed. I'm a bit worried about using too much force incase it is not the correct procedure to replace the blub.

Can anyone offer me some guidance.

I know its awkward trying to see something upside down, but if its anything like my eastate pillar lamps the lens can be pryed off by looking for a small slot around edge of lens, iserting a small screwdiver blade & twisting lens away from bodywork holding it in.

But before doing that you might like to check the switch that turns it on hasn't gone with corrosion at this cold time of the year, like the switch that turns on your interior lamps on the doors when opened - grab a hold of it & give it a wiggle to see if lamp illuminates, you should find this switch around edge of boot lid underside which pops up to earth out lamp & switch it on.

Or look in handbook, Or go to dealer parts & ask to see diagram of lamp on thier computer where the layout & fixing to bodywork can be seen in detail.

Hope it helps,

Keith.

prising it out is the only option - had to do a a couple of weeks ago.
looking at it fron outside (the only way I supose!!) the left hand side has a slot of ryou to insert a wide screwdriver.
I found it still needed a fair bit of force - there are a couple of areas on that end that should compress to allow the cover to drop out but when you insert the screw driver but they seem to offer a lot more resitance than they should

Thanks Keith, it was the switch, I grabbed hold it and gave it a good wiggle and the lamp came on. If it continues to play up i will replace the switch

thanks
