W203 - Buying advice

Later this week I am due to see a car with a view to purchase as I am looking to change my current car for a newer one.

It is a W203 2005 C Class, 200 CDI Classic SE Auto saloon. 85K on the clock and the asking price is £ 7,499 from a local non MB dealer. It has FSH (all MB stamps), 1 previous owner. It is black with a cream cloth interior. This seems a reasonble price compared to some of the models of this age that I have looked at.

I will be looking to trade in my W202 2000 C Class 220CDI with 136k which I have had for a few years now.

I will check the documents and the car of course but I am not clever when it comes to mechanics.
Any advice specific to this model would be welcome.

Its too hard to try and list all the faults or parts that wear, mainly suspension links and bushes, non all that expensive to do. Listen for any clonks when going over a bumpy road.
That looks a good price for that car, a good build year too

Sounds a good proposition and a sensible price. No systematic faults of any great consequence to look for, so it will be a matter of any specifics , how it drives and of course how you like it. From your description you seem to have a good feel for the prices - hope you enjoy a good haggle. We look forward to hearing how you get on.

I bought a W203 C200 CDI Classic SE Auto Saloon FMBSH (with all the print outs)
79K, 1 previous owner. Blue with Grey interior- very pleased with it. It is my fifth Mercedes.
