No schematic but:
Remove the indicator unit. Remove the two screws securing the trim strip below the headlight and remove or move to one side. Remove the four screws securing the headlight unit - two are accessed from the indicator unit aperture, one from the front and one from the side of the headlight. One from above, on the crossmember and the fourth on the radiator side of the headlight under a plastic cover which has to be prised out. Pull the headlight forwards from the car. Refitting is of course just a reversal.
P.S. If you have headlight wipers - from the parked position remove the wiper arm from the spindle.
HTH. Good luck.

Thanks for your reply, but it sounds like the description for removing the headlight from a C-Class W202 which has the square headlight with seperate indicator unit. The vehicle I am referring to is the C-Class W203 with the single "Twin" headlight unit.

Thanks

Anyone else ?

You must remove the under wheel arch spat then the front bumper first.

Thats good know Jib, thank you.

Where are the fixing points for the bumper?
Is it hard work to make it look 'straight' once its back on?

(Never removed a bumper!)

open bonnet two 8mm bolts next to the headlamps, driving lights have two popout tabs and behind those are two 8mm bolts.
under the wheel arch remove the lower splash guards and there is a clamp bracket holding the wings and bumper together, small torx screw needs to be removed, then the bracket moves away to seperate the wing and bumper.
disconnect the driving lights plugs and the temp sensor and the bumper is ready to come off. easy peezy.
