W203 C220 CDI front suspension

Hello to all forum members and delighted to be a new member.
I recently bought W203 C220 CDI (2002) with 57 kmls.
My merc seems to suffer from the "common" problem of bad suspension noise when travelling slowly or braking hard on rough ground (lots of that here in Ireland).
I'm not looking for help......yet.....as I'm going to act on hte obvious first.
i.e. anti-rollbar drop links and anti-roll bushes. I will get my local mechanic (seems to know his stuff) to do the work and will keep forum informed of progress. Other jobs to be done at the same time are V-belt, oil and filter (going with 10w-40 semi ?), rear pads.

Just collected car from mechanic and problem not completly solved. there defenitly is a reduction in noise from the front end but still getting a "banging" noise on strong braking. I think that looking at post from Captain Flack (http://forums.mercedesclub.org.uk/showthread.php?t=31765&highlight=w203) the next service will include the bushings on tracking control arm.

Glad to hear some of the problems resolved, on the service get then to check the pins/guides on the front brake calipers, they can wear and cause noises when braking. a repair kit is avadible.

Just got my car back from mercedes (c220 cdi 2002 82k miles)
rectify noise from front suspension going over bumps,
merc replaced the n/s/f anti roll bar link cost 155 euro plus vat
expensive but it has worked ,now if only it would stop drifting to the left.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
