W203 C220 rear seat problem

I've got a slight issue with the rear seat on my W203

The catch which releases the smaller seat on the drivers side doesn't seam to release it anymore and the indicator is in the up position.

Does anyone know how these work or if there's any comment problems?

Is it just a cable that may have snapped?
