Hi there, Does anyone know of a way to disable the climate control charcoal stepper motor on a 2001 c320? The clicking noise in the dash is driving me crazy, however I don't want to remove the dash to fix it. Any short cuts or bypass ideas?

The trouble is the only way to shut it up is to remove the cog which it turns, and the only way to do that is to remove the entire dash to get at it.

So if you do that you might aswell repair it anyway.

Thanks Ellsy. I thought that may be the case. Does anyone know if this can be done electrically? without upsetting the rest of the system?
