W203 coupe ticking from dash
Have a facelift 54 plate c180k coupe, auto.
Has developed a ticking, audible inside the car at tick over (no pun intended!) or at low revs. Does it stationary or moving, in P,N or any gear.
Does it with climate off/manual/auto with controls in any position so don't think it's a stepper motor for that. However disappears as soon as brake pedal is pressed, then returns a few seconds after pedal released. Sounds like an old clockwork alarmclock and comes from behind speedo area on dash. Can't hear anything under the bonnet though. Could it be anything to do with vacuum or brake servo?
Any ideas appreciated
