W203 Double radio - belsee

Hi all

New hear but not trying to sell anything, just wanted to post my review of a belsee radio I am quite pleased with.

Purchased from ebay, cheaper than equivalent recognised brands, the styling of it fits perfectly with the car, I think, and you can adjust the button light colours to match the car, too.

The instructions are not much help but it is easy to fit and works like any android phone. I have not got the steering wheel buttons to work yet but I think that is me. The screen is clear but no anti reflective coating. Navigation and calls are good but I always use the carplay option. As you would expect, there are some different language issues but most things can be software changed. The sound is as good or better than the merc unit it replaced plus all the added functions of video, gps, dab and carplay, and a cd player that works!

I am pleased with the thing.

I wouldn't get too hung up on the branding as they are all rebadged TBH.
Spec looks OK too.

An update to this....I had an unrelated problem(or so I thought) with the main beam flicking on and off. This coincided with a delay on wipers and indicators. All these problems occured around the same time as installing this unit so I unplugged it - problems went away! I plugged it back in again and now it is a blank screen. Have contacted the seller before I go to a professional installer ...awaiting a reply.

Did you raise a case with eBay before your 30 days were up?
I hope it wasn't bought from China as that can complicate things.

Was working fine - the head unit that is - due Covid I have a 2000km commute so it was a godsend, the flashing main beam & skippy indicators, not so much, but I was not convinced they were related. Now I know & I can live without the head unit but will miss it, especially carplay!. I’m hoping it is just a loom issue - pretty sure it’s a Canbus thing but I’m no expert so will have to refer to one! I think it is from Thailand. Cannot find a European unit made for the 203 anywhere.

They are there, Erisin being a common supplier. Although sellers seem to be less during Covid.

Stick out for Octo core, and 4 gig ram. Other specs aren't so critical but they will generally come with 32 or 64 gig internal memory.
Not many will provide the NIT rating so it's a bit of a lottery if the unit is of greater brightness.

It has been a few years since I've had a Chinese HU that isn't plug and play, that is canbus matched and the button colours already as the rest of the dash.

Thanks. Are these better than the chinese units though? They look exactly the same?

I will get back to the radio but I have bigger problems just now - see other thread!

Afaik they're all of Chinese origin.
That is the one thing about them is reliable.
