The back up memory needs a constant 12volt, the live feed shares the cigar lighter cable, think its green with yellow tracer and works in key 1

You may have a problem if the original stereo was linked to the canbus system. Although the plugs will fit into your Alpine, the ignition live feed is canbus controlled. You will need to remove the canbus ignition controlled wire and pick up an ignition controlled feed from, for example, the cigar lighter. I think this is what Malcolm was trying to tell you.
