W203 Indictator Stalk issue

Hi guys,
I have a strange problem with my C200cdi indicator stalk. The car is a PrefaceLift 2004 and the problem is with the windscreen washer. When I press the washer nothing happens but if I keep it pressed and turn on the right hand turn indicator at the same time it works fine.
Doing a little bit of research it looks like I will need an indicator stalk. Upon further research it appears there are 2 types of stalk for this model year car - a 5 pin stalk and a 6 pin stalk.
How do I know which stalk (5pin or 6pin) I need for my car.

Hi Phil

Give the dealer the reg, and they will supply the best one, but won't give you the part number.

OR

Remove the old one and take a look

OR

Use a web based EPC to look it up (I cannot direct you to one though

Thanks for the reply, I have check a web-based EPC and it is giving me an "information on vin is missing on the database"
I was hoping it wouldnt come to that. I was wondering if there is any way to tell the 2 stalks apart just by looking at them without taking them off and looking at the connector.
