Hi All, I replaced my cam sensors last week including new o-ring, harness extension and sensor cap/grommet (Genuine MB parts). The centre grommets were tricky to fit and pushed them in with a Sharpie pen. I have noticed today that they are both leaking. Should I have applied sealer when installing these? Is there a correct procedure for fitting these? Thanks

I didn’t use any sealer when I did mine , the o rings should do their job , did you clean up the front of the engine before fitting the cam magnets ?
Where is it leaking from ?

Hi Wighty, yes I did however the oil is leaking from the centre grommets, these are installed after centralising the sensor to the cam with a drill bit.

I’m guessing that maybe the inside of these grommets hasn’t fully pushed through to form a seal on the inside of the cam magnet ? Try turning them so that maybe they rotate and fully pop through on the other side .
