I believe my car has factory phone preparation? I am not interested in getting this system working as it is so old and out of date. However I am hoping to install a modern bluetooth receiver in the central armrest area and was hoping the phone wiring may contain a switched 12v live for me to power it with?

Can anyone confirm this? or better yet provide a wiring diagram.
I have tried the search function but can't find anything relevant.

Many thanks

Yes, that's the UHI connector. I bought a Mercedes bluetooth adapter off eBay and use that (with iPhone 8, and now 11). Works OK.

I would expect there's 12V in there but it may be controlled by can-bus or whatever so it might not be as easy as just tapping into it. I'm just guessing, I don't know.

So I had a look in there with the multi-meter over the weekend and there is an obvious live and ground. However it seems to be a constant 12v. Fortunately the bluetooth device I got has an on off switch so I might go ahead and see what happens. I wond be using the wiring for anything else so no loss if it doesn't work.

Hi,
I have the exact factory phone set up that you have (or had). I also want to put in Bluetooth.
Can you tell me what Bluetooth unit you installed?
Do you have any completed photos?

Thank you for your help.
