Hi
I have had my abs pump repaired and want to refit it.
I have heard that the system may be self bleeding. Is this correct or will I need to bleed the whole system.
Also any does or don'ts when i refit it.
Thanks

As the ABS pump is a major part off a brake system it'll not self bleed. It'll require a lot of bleeding and the ABS pump itself will need cycling while doing so, so you'll need some kind of diagnostic electrickery to make the pump operate.

Hi Thanks very much for your reply I had the old module repaired and the car seems to recognise it. I have put the pump back on and the abs light came on and I thought "oh dear". I cleared whatever codes came up and the abs light has not come back on.
At the moment the brake pedal needs to be pumped up. If this does not change I will bleed the system the old school way and see what happens.

As above, there will be air in the pump that will be difficult to shift (at best) without cycling the ABS pump.

I wasn't even thinking of the electrickery side of it.
