Hi all
Just bought a c class c200k 1.8 petrol 2008 off my dad - he had the car from new and has only done just over 50k miles - car has been very well looked after.

I have noticed a quite loud noise from the front suspension when going over certain types of uneven road/speed bumps at low speeds - some times it feels like quite a severe knock almost like there is no damping at all but then at speed it’s fine. Seems to be both sides but worse on the drivers side.

Has anyone got any idea what the issue is likely to be and how I could diagnose it before I start replacing struts/drop links etc.

Also is there a way of finding the Mercedes part numbers for my car as when I rang a couple of main dealers they refused to provide

Thanks

Broken springs are pretty common, can be difficult to see as it’s the end coils that break off

I'd give Mb Grangemouth a call - they do forum discount and post out for ~£5
