w204 c220 cdi 2009 - Bonnet release stiff now possibly snapped

Hey, just wondering if anyone has experienced similar with a 2009 era C Class? The bonnet release lever was very stiff, and indeed I pulled it a bit harder than normal and now it's no longer stiff and doesn't release the bonnet. Potentially a snapped cable I suppose. Any advice on how to get the bonnet opened? Is a new cable a big job?

Crisis averted - the cable hadn't snapped, it had released the catches and the bonnet was still "stuck" down. After some bouncing on the front of the bonnet with my palms and it popped up. Looks like I just need to clean out and oil the two catches at the front thankfully
