The car is a 2009 W204 C350Cdi and a few weeks ago, the battery would go flat overnight for no obvious reason. After a proper charge up, it would be be fine for perhaps a week or two - and then would suddenly go flat again. The car is used pretty well daily and has been used quite a lot over the last few days and then this morning, its flat again. I think if it was a persistent and constant drain, it would go flat regularly. But it doesn't- its just every now and then.
One thing thats concerning me is that a few weeks ago, I had the infamous EIS/ESL problem. Eventually this was traced to a faulty ESL (Electronic Steering Lock) motor and this was replaced by an emulator. It might be my imagination but I reckon thats when the battery drain issue started. Is that possible or am I clutching at straws? Has anyone else had a similar intermittent battery problem? Any ideas gratefully received.
