W204 Going into limp mode "Fuel rail pressure too high"

Hi All, 2008 c220 sport. Been standing for 12 months, I've drained and replaced the diesel and filter but when putting your foot down it goes into limp mode. My basic code reader comes up with P0088 fuel rail pressure too high.

From a bit of research it seems to either be the quantity control valve or the diesel temp sensor.

Just wondering if anyone has had similar and did they replace one or both?

Research that we'll lots of makers won't sell switch on common rail sepperate, If u need one get nu off it and Google away.

Fuel Quantity control valve is not in rail, but next to hp pump. Common component to fail. Fuel temp value you can try read if you diagnostic is capable of live data. Fuel temp is derating injected fuel rate, it should not trigger a high pressure code.

Replaced the valve on the pump, problems solved!
