I've found plenty of people with the above issue, but not much by way of a fix.

My W204 C Class electric folding mirror over-rotates when opening. From closed, with the mirror 'locked' onto its mechanism (ie. not manually pushed) it opens to its normal 90° position to the door, but then carries on another 45° or so. I cannot get the mirror to stop (forced or otherwise) at its usual open position. If i push the mirror off its locked position to set it to its usual driving position, it is too loose and just flaps back at speed.
Has anyone found a repair to this problem? The motor seems to be working fine. I cant see anything obvious with the cover off.. 15969954122687750006150620843257.jpg
Thanks

A door mirror on my R Class used to try to fold in a little more than it should do, the motor continued to run a few seconds longer & jump the gears. I dismantled it & moved the mesh of the gears a couple of teeth but it always folded out OK but then always over ran when folding. AN Other mirror sorted it! :)

Surely if the motor is still working it is something to do with a programmed stop having gone out of sync, or a failed limiter micro-switch or something? Cost of a new mirror mechanism is far too much to be worth doing on an 11yr old car.

I fitted a second hand mirror assembly

.... I didn't even bother to get a quite for a new one

You could always just tell the mirrors to NOT auto fold on locking ;)

I need to find a way to get the mirror to stop in the correct position first...
