Last one of 4 brake pipes I need to replace is the off side front.
All the rest are fairly straightforward and I am pleased with the results- I’ve done plenty of pipes on many cars through the years.
I wonder if someone could post the “official” route for this replacement- I can’t see how to follow the original pipe without pulling out the engine :)

Thanks for that reply, I'm now thinking this will be the best solution. My usual approach is always to replace the entire pipe, and avoid joins. This particular pipe is so well concealed in the depths of the engine compartment, it would be impossible to replace neatly.

Job now completed with a splice behind the OSF wheel arch liner. This is rather tricky as there's only just enough straight run in the existing steel pipe to cut and subsequently use the flare tool. My trusty old Supra flare tool needs about 1.5 inches / 40mm of straight pipe to work properly, so I ended up with just enough length to work with. The amount of new line required was probably less than 4" / 10cm. The splice connector now sits neatly behind the wheel arch liner. The next nearest accessible place for a splice would be under the coolant header tank; to my eye this looks like way too much work to remove it, and the space in that area appears somewhat tight for the flaring tool.
