W205, c200 petrol engine management light

Hi,

I purchased a December 2017 c200 petrol 5 months ago. Full Mercedes history, 34,000 miles. The engine management light has recently come on, went off for a day, and now back on again. Any suggestions please, I have read possibly NOX sensors? Is best route to go to main dealer first or specialist? Thanks in advance

Waa it purchased from MB approved used, of Y then dealer.
Alternatively you need a MB indy.

EML can be triggered by numerous things so forget the guesswork/searching.

The Nox sensor issues you have read about relate to the diesels with adblue.
If the last service was by MB then use the call button on the overhead console to call out Mobilio.
An MB tech will come out in an RAC van with full diagnostic kit and it will cost you nothing.

Thanks Mike, yes, last service was Mercedes. Where please would it be on the overhead console?

When you look at the overhead console there should be a button with the picture of phone on it, just press that then follow the prompts.

Thanks Mike, I had Mercedes /RAC out today and the engineer confirmed NOX sensor bank 1 (pre cat). He re -set the error code, I’ll wait and see if the engine light comes back on.

If it does, am I likely to get a goodwill gesture from Mercedes towards the cost? It has full Merc history.
