Hello. Does anyone have experience with the airmatic system? The car is a 2016 c205 c350e. The problem is that the air suspension falls randomly, front, rear or the whole. Sometimes it picks up after several times of removing the key and starting the engine. What I have tried so far is, I changed the relay, removed the plug that is on the compressor and cleaned it because it was very oxidized, i drive 200miles without any issues yesterday. Today after i start driving, the car drop and did not want to get up after many attempts. I jacked up the car, took out the plug from compressor , cleaned it, and while it's on the jack, the car start to rise up. After starting driving, the front fell again and does not rise. Where is the problem? The pump? The socket? Thanks.

So you think it's a leak? Is there not an electrical issue with a pump or something like this? Because the car can stay 1 week without dropping it off when it is not driving. Thank you.

It sounds like you have a leak or the compressor itself has worn badly and is not delivering the correct pressure, ypu can fit a pressure guage on the oulet of the compressor and check the pressure is being delivered when the pump runs.

I had the same problem. dealer changed the compressor. It was better but still occasionally went down. I lost confidence in the car. The dealer was confident it was fine but it still dropped occasionally. So I part exchanged it got a real good price over £3k more than we buy any car. So I bought a new VW Taigo R Line 1.0 DSG.. Loving the VW. Not missing the merc one jot after 7 years of ownership from new...

There's a few good videos on You Tube regarding Airmatic problems. Watch them and you will at least get a good understanding how the system works and it will help in pinpointing your particular fault.

One of the most overlooked issues with airmatic and what not even the dealers know about (as its not in any service schedule) is the air filter at the airmatic compressor.
They dry out and bits of them fall into the compressor.
So anyone with airmatic - look into it.
They are mann filters and cost 7 pound odd depending on your filter model.
