W205 - pan roof rubber seals - tapping noises

For a while my pan roof was making a pitter patter type noise which disappears if you tillt the roof.
Dealer said it is a known problem caused by the rubber seals and it went in to have a silicon type solution applied to the seals.
This improved the issue nicely.
Not sure if it will remain that way over time - sometimes it may still be doing it a little.
Anyone else had the same treatment done to theirs?
Has Mercedes brought out any new parts/seals to remedy this?

Anyone know if the long black plastic trim which runs from the rear screen adjacent to the pan roof and down the A pillar on both sides is needed to be removed in order to fully access the sunroof rubbers?

I had the same problem with mine midway between the first and second services so was still in warranty. My service guy recognised the problem immediately and had the roof mechanism 'serviced'. They said that this would normally have been done at the second service and thereafter at every B service. It has been ok since.

Can't comment on the rubber seals though.

Thanks - Mercedes has a designated solution to treat the rubber seals - to do all the seals the glass panel has to be removed.
Has no one else had this done?
