I have an X plate W208 320. When I start her up she is very sluggish, as if she is drowning in fuel. It is especially off-putting as she will lerch at junctions after first appearing to want to stall. This also occurs after opening her up on the motorway. Any ideas what is causing this? Shortly after buying her I found that I needed to change plugs but this did not really solve the problem.

is it not revving over certain revs & wont over 60/70mph??

if thats the case then it could be the air flow meter. mine was doing this. when I over revved it to get better performance it would go into safe mode & drive on 3rd gear until next time I started it.

No issue with revving. But just pants until she warms up or if I have been in hurry and then come to junctions. Apart from anything else, I pull out in front of HGVs and she is gutless for a few moments. Not the best feeling!

Feels like timing issue.
