Hi,

I have electric fold-in mirrors on my W208 CLK230. They fold in via a switch on the centre console which you keep pressed to fold in/out.

I was just wondering if it would be possible to easily get these to automatically fold in when I lock the car and fold out again when I open it?

Thanks,

Mike.

I think this functionality only came on a later version of the controllers. I think it may have even been the 2004 model year CLK. Anyone else know any different?

is the car a facelifted model, if it is go into the on board computer and go to settings, select the convience setting and it should have a fold mirrors when locking function, select ok and hey presto mirrors will fold when you lock the car. If this function is not available it is possible to change the setting when you service the car next using star diagnostic's

Generally if you are required to keep the button pressed to fold the mirrors, auto-fold is not possible without a change of controller.

With press and release folding it should be possible to code auto-folding via STAR

Hi,
Folding mirrors on locking cannot be done on this vehicle. Unless you know someone who is clever with electronics as a control box could be designed as you would use the locking/unlocking pulse from the key fob this would have to operate timer relays the relays operating the mirrors.
I,m going to sit down one day and do it myself but its just getting the time :(
