Hi can anyone recommend a Diagnostic Tool for my 2001 208 convertible.

I appreciate star is the official way to go, however looking for something plug and play like an icarsoft or similar that supports the 38pin plug in the engine bay.

Been looking online, however getting conflicting information.

Was thinking about this, however getting no reply from seller

They are based in the US, however if I could source something similar in the UK then great.

TIA

I was able to get engine and gearbox codes from my old 208 using a 38pin to 16 pin obd adapter. Using an old Autel diagnostic tool l

Adapter cables are very hit and miss and won't give the full set of codes
There is nothing like an icarsoft for vehicles with 38 pin diagnostic ports.
The o Lu options I've found are Cardiff (based in the Netherlands) or Star.
Both are laptop based programs and include a multiplexer unit to query each control module.
The 38 pin connector has one connection per module and the multiplexer allows the software to switch between them.

I use the MB Carsoft 7.4 multiplexer and have the 38 pin connector as your car. This unit will read and tell you the codes on all the necessary circuits, but won't do programming. If this is what you are after, it's worth a try.

Everything you need to know us here.
This is the official version as opposed to the Chinese copies.

The Chinese ones work but you need to get the right version (the multiplexer should have a big D connector one end and a small one the other - some have small both ends and won't work).

We don't talk about where to get clones on here - it's a banned subject.

Yes, it would need a laptop. Mine runs Windows XP and you would need a serial port on the back of the correct type. I hope this helps.
