Does anbody know the maintenance and servicing requirements for the 2.3 L supercharger?
I gather that it has its own separate lubricant? so is'nt fed via the sump.

There is a separate gear chamber between the clutch and the supercharger body containing a small amount of oil. The level/filler plug is not easily accessible without stripping off the outlet manifold and even then I doubt you could get a decent view of the oil level. I suspect it is only used when the kompressor undergoes an overhaul. So far I haven't even been able to find out what oil should be in there anyway.

This link shows the gear chamber but not the level plug unfortunately

There are no other routine maintenance requirements that I know of.

Hi,
I have done a bit research and as jim says i think it is only when the super charger comes of the engine you need to worry.
I have read people who have done it and apparently causes some problems with the oil foaming if you put to much in, even by the smallest amount.

That makes a lot of sense. It is small, completely sealed chamber with gears rotating at high speed. Foaming would pressurise the compartment and cause leaks, resulting oil loss would not do the gears much good!

Unless there is an external indication of oil leakage from the gear chamber I would leave well alone.

Yes leaving well alone did seem to be the consensus of opinion, as the problems it could cause far out wieghed the advantages.
