I started my stored Merc the other day as ready for an MOT and whilst under the bonnet noticed the Rad fan spinning then click and go off. I thought this was suspicious and odd. Since then it has not spun at all each time I've started up the car. I think the fan has blown but need to know for sure? I've turned down the heater temp to effectively turn on the air con and I thought it should then come on even when cold but nothing? No air con either so that could have blown too or run out of gas? Can anyone with a similar car 2005 CLK320 petrol Convertible lift their bonnet and see if their fan runs slow with the engine running from cold? I'm sure mine always ran on slow speed once started? Faster with air con on? I left it to warm up but stood still it didn't overheat but neither did the fan start up?
I've checked the fuse (OK) and had the fan out and apart to re-solder the circuit board in the hub but all to no avail? Does anyone know if the cars have a fan control relay anywhere as another check? I've heard that some MB's do but others don't ?
I don't fancy driving it for its MOT until I know if its a fault or not so if anyone can check their cars and let me know that would be great. I'm about 90% sure its knackered but need to check? Thanks in advance.

Just Tried 14v plus and minus on the 2 main spade terminals of the 4 and nothing. I suspect the other 2 small spades are control wires so its possibly that it needs more than just a dc supply to test it?
