W209 (early) facelift???

I've been told by a coulpe of dealers that their W209A (from 2003 CLK Convertible) is the "facelifted version". I believe there's a slight difference in the heater / radio area of the dash and some other mods (headlamps?). I also understand that this facelift was quite early (maybe 2005?) in the model's life. (....and no, I'm not getting mixed up between the W208 and the W209 !!!!).
Can anyone tell me the date of the facelift, and also, what was altered / revised?

Sorry, I'm going to show my lack of knowledge here. I thought the W 209 went from about 2003/2004 (mine being a 54 plate coupe), up to about 2005/2006 when it was facelifted, and still as a W209, the big difference I've noticed being the support bars under the grill are different on the latest cars. Is this summary incorrect, was there a previous W209 facelift?
